Top 10 Greatest Songs in the World (for jen...right now)
4:28 p.m. // 2007-03-18

These are my favorite songs in the world at the moment. Some of them are old faves, some are newly discovered, some are just plain new songs, some are rediscovered. Anyway, I think everyone could benefit from getting to know a couple of them.

The list is as follows, in no particular order:

Kill by Jimmy Eat World
(it rips out my guts every time I hear it, in a good way)

Every Moment by Rogue Wave
(can't describe it's awesomeness)

A Movie Script Ending by Death Cab for Cutie
("Whenever I come back, the air on Railroad is making the same sound..." it's so beautiful because it's true. I love Railroad, I love Bellingham, I love this song.)

Leaving So Soon? by Keane
(possibly one of the greatest songs for singing in the car ever...plus it's got some bitterness, which I like in my belting tunes)

For the Widows in Paradise, For the Fatherless in Ypsilanti by Sujan Stevens
(the "by Sufjan Stevens" should be enough evidence that you should listen to it right now)

Great Divide by Hanson
(good old fashioned rock and roll with Taylor's attractive growly voice...you can hear it on their myspace page, or mine for that matter)

Caring is Creepy by The Shins
(everybody knows this song. Everybody loves this song. I listened to it on a walk a couple nights ago and the air smelled like cinammon and everything was perfect)

Come Right Out and Say It by Relient K
(probably the best song on their new CD with lyrics very relevant to every "relationship" I ever imagined myself having)

Nothing Left to Lose by Mat Kearney
(overplayed? Yes. But something about the middle 8 going into the chorus really floats my boat. I relate to the lyrics at this point in my life as well.)

At Your Funeral by Saves the Day
(brings me back to freshman year. Also, it's another great song for belting in the car)

All right. There are the top 10 songs of my life right now. I'm sure some of them will be different by next week. There is just too damn much good music out there!

And now I have 15 minutes to get ready for work. Dang.
