So I was just doing a little research online, trying to figure out where I want to go to grad school, and I found some interesting information that has swayed me a little bit in the direction of University of North Texas.
A) Six flags over Texas is approximately 20 miles between Fort Worth and Dallas, which means it is probably about a half hour from Denton, where the UNT is located.
B) Schlitterbahn, the greatest water slide park in the known world, is about 4 hours from Denton.
C) New Iberia, Lousiana, where my cajun Grandpa Boyer (bwaje, for those of you who read IPA) grew up is about a 7 hour drive from Denton, and that is one of the places I have always wanted to go.
So now I know that in Denton I would have access to world class theme parks and barbecue alike. Now I just need to decide on the other basics of life, such as cost of living, how the water tastes (rather yucky), and, oh yeah, the school itself and if I would rather go there than Denver or UW. (Note: I have yet to hear from Boston. Prigs. I almost hope for a rejection to make my decision that much easier...but if I got in, man, that would be really hard to turn down.)
Ugh, this is a really tough decision. If anyone would like to weigh in with any thoughts or opinions, please, feel free. Just pray that I end up in the right place!
Nighty 'night.
